Go Chicken Go opened on Vivion road today after five-year wait. At 5pm, the wait is said to be wrapping around the building.
Gladstone, MO – March 31, 2025 – The wait
is finally over for chicken lovers in Gladstone and the surrounding Northland!
Go Chicken Go, the beloved local fried chicken chain, is opening its new
location at the corner of Vivian Rd. and North Oak on April 3, 2025, after a
highly anticipated years long wait.
For those eager to get a taste of the crispy, flavorful chicken that has earned a loyal following, there’s a chance to experience it early. A select group of pre-subscribers have been invited to a special pre-opening preview tonight, marking the first chance for local residents to get a sneak peek of the restaurant before the grand opening.
The new location just outside of Gladstone has been a long
time in the making. First announced five years ago, the opening was delayed due
to Covid as well as construction and logistical challenges. But
now, the moment is finally here, and the excitement is palpable. “We know our
fans have been waiting a long time for this,” said Go Chicken Go spokesperson,
Maria Hernandez. “We’re thrilled to finally bring our signature chicken to
Gladstone and to thank our loyal customers for their patience.”
Local frustration with the delay was humorously compared to
waiting for Santa to deliver the coveted GI Joe aircraft carrier by Clay County
Commissioner Jason Withington, who said, "Starting to think waiting on Go
Chicken Go to actually open its Kansas City North location is a lot like asking
Santa for the GI Joe aircraft carrier. 37 years later and I still don't have
it." Perhaps Jason can make that one of his campaign promises. Another
Commenter made a light-hearted reference to the construction of the Great Wall
of China taking over 2000 years, humorously comparing it to the delay in
opening Northland Go Chicken Go.
Go Chicken Go, which started as a small, family-owned
business, has expanded over the years, earning a reputation for its perfectly
seasoned, crispy chicken. Known for its fast service and affordable prices, the
chain has become a local favorite in the Kansas City area, and the new
Gladstone location is expected to continue that tradition. The grand
opening on April 3 is expected to draw large crowds eager to sink their
teeth into some of the best fried chicken in the region.
This milestone event marks the end of a long wait for the
Gladstone community, and Go Chicken Go’s team is ready to serve up their
signature dishes with the same flair and flavor that fans have come to expect.
If you’ve been counting down the days, the wait is almost over!
